I'm thrilled to share the extraordinary day we recently had at Workshop26. It was the first-ever Rural Women's Day Eyre Peninsula event, and let me tell you, it was something truly special. Workshop26 was buzzing with life, and we came together to eat, drink, laugh, and learn.
A Day Packed with Inspiration
The day's program was jam-packed with activities that left us feeling inspired and motivated. We kicked things off with a delightful two-course long table lunch, complete with a complimentary glass of wine. It was a culinary experience that set the stage for what was to come.
Our guest speakers, Steph Trethewey, the 2022 AgriFutures Rural Women's Award winner, and Kate Ivey from DediKate (all the way from New Zealand!), shared their insights, stories, and wisdom with our eager audience.
A Feast to Remember
Now, let's talk about the food. I had the pleasure of catering for over 100 incredible women, and let me tell you, we had quite the spread prepared for our lovely guests.
But here's what made it even more special. It wasn't just me in that kitchen. My incredible mum, Leeanne, and my daughter were right there by my side, helping me cater. You see, cooking runs in the family, and it was an absolute joy to share the kitchen with them. Three generations of our family came together to create something truly memorable.
As we whipped, chopped, and stirred, we knew that each dish was not just food; it was a piece of our hearts, a reflection of the love that goes into rural cooking, and a testament to the strong bonds that hold our communities together.
